KTR continues to announce candidates

HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao continues to announce party candidates for the Assembly polls even before party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced the list. On Monday, he urged voters to re-elect Yellareddy MLA Jajala Surender during his tour of Kamareddy district to launch development programmes.

Rama Rao has declared MLA candidates for a dozen seats in the last six months. Rama Rao is said to be declaring the names of MLAs who performed well in the party's surveys

At a public meeting in the Yellareddy constituency, he called upon voters to elect Surender and double his victory margin from 35,000 votes in 2018 to 70,000 now. Surender was the only Congress candidate to resist the BRS sweep in the undivided Nizamabad district but joined the ruling party.

He sanctioned Rs 45 crore for development programmes in Kamareddy district on Monday. Rama Rao criticised Congress and the BJP and urged people not be believe the 'false promises' being made by these parties on Rythu Bandhu, Aasara pensions, and crop loan waiver.

"Congress ruled the state for five decades. They never implemented schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, or free power to agriculture. Now they are promising Rs4,000 Aasara pension, Rs15,000 Rythu Bandhu per acre per year, and Rs2 lakh crop loan waiver. Do they think Telangana people are so innocent to believe those fake promises,” Rama Rao asked.
