THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF supported JDU leader M.P. Veerendrakumar and UDF candidate B. Babu Prasad filed nominations for the Rajya Sabha seats for which elections will be held on March 23. Mr Veerendrakumar was accompanied by Chief Minister Pinarayi Viajayan, ministers E. Chandrashekharan, Kadannappalli Ramachandran at the time of filing the nomination papers. The veteran leader submitted his nomination papers to legislature secretary V.K. Babu Prakash.

The UDF candidate B. Babu Prasad was accompanied by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, former ministers K.C. Joseph, M K Muneer, Anoop Jacob and V.D. Satheeshan, MLA. The victory of the JDU leader is a foregone conclusion considering the strength of LDF in the state assembly.
