Splitsville for TD, Jana Sena in store

Chief whip Kaluva Srinivasulu lashed out at the Jana Sena chief saying that the TD did fight for special category status.

Anantapur: Film star-turned-politi-cian Pawan Kalyan’s decision to contest in 2019 polls has widened the rift between the Jana Sena and TD. Although the Jana Sena had extended support to both BJP and TD in the state during elections, the denial of special category status to the state broke the friendship.

The Jana Sena chief announced to contest from all parts of the state in the general polls. He said he had no enmity with either N. Chandrababu Naidu or Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, but the Jana Sena treats them as enemies over “failure to get justice for the state”.

Chief whip Kaluva Srinivasulu lashed out at the Jana Sena chief saying that the TD did fight for special category status.

“We did demand special category status, but accepted the special package after the Centre said it was unable to accord status on technical reasons,” Mr Kaluva Srinivasulu said.
