BRS to contest all seats in Andhra Pradesh

VIJAYAWADA: BRS-Andhra Pradesh chief Thota Chandrasekhar announced that the party would contest all 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Inaugurating the party office in Vijayawada East constituency on Saturday, he accused the BJP of misusing CBI and ED to suppress political opponents. “Unable to digest the growth of BRS at the national level, the Modi government started harassing BRS MLC Kavitha through CBI and those cases were politically motivated,” he said.

Chandrasekhar also accused the BJP of creating rifts between castes for political benefits. He claimed that illegal cases were filed against Kavitha to undermine BRS and made it clear that party was not afraid of the BJP’s threats.

“The BJP played a key role in the disorderly division of the state and further the BJP is conspiring to prevent the development of the Telugu states. The BJP government at the Centre has failed miserably in fulfilling the promises given during the time of united AP bifurcation,” he said.

Chandrasekhar alleged that BJP was not allocating necessary funds for capital construction and Polavaram projects. He said that unemployment increased and the youth were having to migrate to other states.

Slamming the rule of TDP and YSRC governments in the state, Chandrasekhar said the BRS will contest all seats to end misrule in the state. He said that good governance would be possible only if vote-for-cash is stringently checked.
