Naidu calls on Adireddys in Rajahmundry jail

KAKINADA: Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday alleged that the YSR Congress party had attempted to lure Telugu Desam Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Adireddy Bhavani, her husband Adireddy Srinivasa Rao and her in-law Adireddy Appa Rao into YSRC before the MLC elections.

But as the Adireddy family rejected this offer, false cases have been registered against Adireddy Appa Rao and Adireddy Srinivasa Rao, Naidu charged.

The former chief minister spoke to the media after visiting the Central Jail, where Adireddy Appa Rao and his son Srinivasa Rao have been lodged. He charged that as Adireddy Appa Rao, a BC leader, is doing business to the tune of ₹100 crore, the YSRC government has framed false charges against him.

Naidu found fault with the state government for transferring Central Jail superintendent S. Raja Rao soon after the officer let him (Naidu) meet Adireddys in the jail. He said YSRC turned vindictive over this and took action against the superintendent, who belongs to the ST community.

The former CM assured that after TD comes to power, such sincere officers will be given due recognition.

Earlier, Naidu visited Vegayammapeta village in Ramachandrapuram mandal and Kadiam for consoling farmers whose crops have been damaged. He demanded that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announce how much compensation will be paid to farmers whose crops have been damaged due to the untimely rains.
