KCR trying to divert attention: N Uttam Kumar Reddy

CM doesn't know people's anger against him, his family: PCC chief.

NIZAMABAD: N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, the chief of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, said Chief Minister K. Ch-andrasekhar Rao was disco-nnected from the people and living in an illusory world.

“He (Mr Rao) doesn’t kn-ow the frustration and disappointment of people. He doesn’t know the reality of Telangana and people’s an-ger against him and his family,” he said.

During the Congress’ Praja Chaitanya bus yatra, Mr Reddy said Mr Rao was trying to divert the attention of people from his gross failure in administration by proposing a Third Front in national politics.

Mr Reddy said the bus yatra was a game changer in Telangana politics. He said the Congress usually faced difficulties because of delays in the selection of candidates and the organisation of an election campaign. “We will overcome these odds with a well-planned bus yatra before the general elections that are expected to be held in December,” he said.

Mr Reddy said the bus yatra would highlight the failures of the TRS government and the false promises made by Mr Rao. He added that the yatra would also boost the morale of party workers. He said all Congr-ess leaders in TS were working together to dislodge the TRS government.

“There are no serious differences among senior leaders as they strive towards this goal,” he said.

Four-time MLA Mr Uttam Reddy said that mass appeal and charisma had once worked in Mr Rao’s favour, but now he faced anti-incumbency. “Having been an MLA four times in a row, I know people’s aspirations and requirements. People recognise the pulse of their leaders,” he said.

He added that comments regarding his beard did not befit a Chief Minister. “He should concentrate on serious issues such as farmers’ distress, unemployment, and fee reimbursement,” he said.

The TPCC leader said that sections of society that were suffering because of the TRS’ misrule would get relief if the Congress came to power. “The Congress is ready to give crop waivers of Rs 2 lakh in one go, and Rs 3,000 as monthly allowance for unemployed youths. Government and private sector jobs will also be filled up,” he said. He added that money, power, and official machinery would not be able to protect Mr Rao from anti-incumbency.

“The people of Telangana have seen K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s true colours in the past four years. They are ready to teach his government a fitting lesson,” he said.
