BJP MP Dr. K. Laxman Criticises Congress and BRS Promises

HYDERABAD: BJP OBC Morcha president and party MP Dr K. Laxman said the BRS and the Congress were making promises which are unimplementable. He said that farmers from Karnataka were coming to Telangana and ask the people not to vote for the Congress.

“In just six months, ministers and MLAs in Karnataka are saying they don’t have funds for development. Having promised freebies, they are now placing many restrictions to avail them now,” Dr Laxman said at a media conference. “The Narendra Modi government has adopted the politics of performance as opposed to politics of parivar.”

The BRS government had not given the promised double bedrooms and free fertilisers, he said. “If we come to power we will implement the Gujarat and UP models. I request the people to stand by the Modi government. We are for welfare, not freebies. We have supported traditional vocations by helping them modernise free of cost,” he said.

He said the seat sharing with the Jana Sena would be arrived at soon. “I met Pawan Kalyan along with Kishan Reddy and have decided that we will work together to make Modi PM for the third time,” he said.

He said Karnataka’s Gruha Jyothi scheme giving 200 units of free power to households had left the state unable to give quality power for even two to three hours. Power tariff had been increased, he said. “When the BJP was in power, we gave quality power for 12 hours.”

“Karnataka Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar had himself campaigned in Telangana saying they were giving power for five hours and TPCC president Revanth Reddy is saying three hours power is sufficient for farmers. Farmers are having sleepless nights,” he said.

The Gruha Lakshmi scheme in which every woman was to get Rs 2,000 now has a condition that the woman should be head of the family as indicated in the ration card. Ten kg rice was promised under the Anna Bhagya scheme but the government was only supplying the 5 kg rice given by the Centre.

He said the free travel for women scheme had left the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation reeling under losses. Besides, autorickshaw and cab drivers were losing their income as women were taking free buses. The Rs 500 LPG cylinder scheme had not been implemented, and the eligibility for old age pension had been set back to 65 years.
