1,000 Chandrababus, Stalins can't topple Modi govt: Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan

The PM, she said, was capable of leading India to new heights in all spheres including economy and health.

CHENNAI: Averring that those who could not directly take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi were making vain attempts to dislodge the BJP-led government at the Centre, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “even if one thousand Chandrababu Naidus and Stalins emerge, they can never succeed in toppling Mr. Modi.”

The PM, she said, was capable of leading India to new heights in all spheres including economy and health. “He is a great leader. No matter how many enemies emerge and how many difficulties are imposed, he cannot be toppled because people have high expectations of him,” she said responding to DMK chief MK Stalin’s support on Saturday for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s initiative of meeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

“Corrupt, autocratic and divisive forces are destroying the democratic fabric of our country,” Mr. Stalin said in a tweet. “It is the need of the hour for all non-BJP parties to come together on a common platform,” he wrote further and congratulated Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu after their meeting and wrote ‘they have my support.’

On the Supreme Court imposing a two-hour time slot for firing crackers on Deepavali, Dr. Tamilisai told reporters here that bursting crackers on the Festival of Lights is part of the celebration on that day. So time should not be allotted. “The revelry involves firing of crackers from the wee hours till midnight. Deepavali means bursting crackers and lighting oil lamps and the festival can’t be celebrated without crackers,” she said.

Speaking at a function in the city, she said Neet has largely been instrumental in helping the poor students to pursue a career in medicine. “I had received 2,000 mails requesting the continuation of Neet, which is helping the rural poor students to join the medical colleges. The entrance test will be beneficial in the coming years too,” she said.
