G20 Dinner Invitations Addressed to 'President of Bharat' Spark Controversy
On Tuesday, Congress criticized the Central government for sending G20 dinner invitations in the name of the President of Bharat instead of the customary "President of India."
"So the news is indeed true. Rashtrapati Bhawan has sent out an invite for a G20 dinner on Sept 9th in the name of 'President of Bharat' instead of the usual 'President of India'." wrote Jairam Ramesh (Congress general secretary) on Twitter.
His Twitter post further read, "Now, Article 1 in the Constitution can read: “Bharat, that was India, shall be a Union of States. But now even this “Union of States” is under assault."

In a strong response to the grand old party's 'Union of states under assault' remark, BJP President JP Nadda asked, "Why does the Congress have objection to every subject related to the honor and pride of the country?"

Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, also voiced his criticism of the Congress regarding their objection to the use of 'Bharat' in the G20 invites. He remarked, "They have a problem with everything. I am a 'Bharatwaasi,' the name of my country was 'Bharat,' and will always remain 'Bharat.' If Congress has a problem with this, they should find a cure for it themselves."

The G20 summit is scheduled to span two days in New Delhi, taking place on September 9 and 10. The summit will bring together leaders and delegates from 40 countries, including the 20 member states.
According to reports, the Central government led by Narendra Modi, which has been emphasizing the liberation of the country's populace from the 'slavery mentality' during the ongoing 'Amrit Kaal,' is reportedly contemplating an official name change from 'India' to 'Bharat.'
During the forthcoming special session of Parliament, slated for September 18-22, the government is expected to present Bills pertaining to the proposal for omitting the word 'India.'
