Hyderabad: Following the High Court’s directive to the city police to accord permission for their ‘sarpanchs dharna’, the Congress plans to hold it on January 9.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, PCC vice-president Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the party will be holding a peaceful dharna during the demonstration.
Earlier in the day, the preparatory meeting of frontal organisations on ‘Haath se Haath jodo’ to be launched across the country on January 26 decided to mobilise people for the padayatra.
“Mandal presidents who hold the key will be making this a success and the PCC chief will also be taking part at different locations which are yet to be finalised,” the leader added.
The meeting which was presided over by PCC working president, B. Mahesh Kumar Goud was attended by Girish Chodankar, the observer for Haath se Haath jodo Abhiyan (Telangana), and senior vice-president, Mallu Ravi.
