Niranjan raps KCR for not honouring Meira Kumar

HYDERABAD: TPCC senior vice-president G. Niranjan on Sunday took exception to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao not meeting Meira Kumar, Lok Sabha Speaker when the Telangana Bill was passed, on her visit to the city.

“While KCR does not hesitate to prostrate before priests, why did he not pay a courtesy visit to Meira Kumar though it was she who presided over the passing of the Telangana formation bill?” he said.

Calling Chandrashekar Rao “narrow-minded”, he said: “Though Meira Kumar was here to attend a programme organised by the Congress, KCR should have honoured her on behalf of the Telangana government.”

“KCR and his followers are going to town claiming credit for achieving Telangana as if it was achieved only because of him. They are not willing to take others' names also,” he said.
