KCR ignored Telangana soldiers\' sacrifices: Revanth

HYDERABAD: A day after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao met with his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar to hand over Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of five soldiers from Bihar killed in the Galwan Valley, TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy remarked that the state government had ignored the sacrifices of Telangana soldiers.

Revanth Reddy, in an open letter to the CM, recalled the sacrifices made by M. Yadaiah, an Army jawan from Kondareddypally in Vangur mandal in Mahbubnagar district, who was killed in a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 2013. He demanded that the government fulfil promises made to the families of Telangana soldiers killed in the line of duty.

The state government had promised to provide employment, a house site, and a five-acre farmland to Yadaiah's widow. In the letter, the TPCC president alleged the CM's gesture was motivated by politics and his political aspirations rather than sympathy for the families of these soldiers. He stated that the Congress had always taken a sympathetic view with regard to the families of soldiers and farmers.

"How come your sympathies for martyrs did not reflect in the case of Yadaiah, a Dalit's son who gave his life in Kashmir while fighting terrorists? Different political parties expressed their support at the time. Even your daughter K. Kavitha had paid him a visit. However, the government's promise of the five-acre land, a plot for a house, and a government job for a family member remained unfulfilled," Revanth Reddy noted.

Revanth Reddy stated. "Is this the concern you show to Telangana martyrs and their families," he asked. “Is this the sensitivity you show towards martyrs and their families from Telangana,” he asked.
