Call from CM Jagan to minister Appalaraju leads to speculations

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for animal husbandry and dairy development Seediri Appala Raju got a call from the chief minister's office on Friday which surprised YSR Congress party leaders and political circles.

According to sources, Raju was informed by the CMO to reach Tadepalli and meet chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in the evening. The minister cancelled all his programmes in Vizianagaram district and rushed to Tadepalli.

Though the reason for Jagan summoning Appala Raju was not immediately known, it led to speculations that the CM was contemplating a reshuffle of his cabinet, and that some ministers might be dropped and new ones inducted.

Minister Appalaraju said he will not be bothered whether he has a ministerial post or not. "Public service is more important to me than a minister post. I belong to a BC community and the CM gave me the post of minister. I will obey the orders of the CM but I have no information as to why I am called,” he added.
