Dr Saleha, who was born in Nalgonda district in Telangana migrated to the UK in 1970. She entered politics in 2014 through the Labour party after spending time in government service. She also previously held the post of the deputy mayor of the city.
Dr. Saleha had visited Hyderabad city a year ago in the capacity of deputy mayor and she took charge as mayor of Lambeth city just last week.
