Rare Blue Whale Washes Up On Meghavaram Beach in AP

In a rare occurrence a rare Blue Whale was found lying at Meghavaram beach in Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh on Friday morning. The whale is said to be about 25 feet long and weighs around 5 tons.

The video of the whale washed up and brought to the shore surfaced online. In the video, intrigued locals have flocked the beach in large numbers, to get a view of the rare scene of a giant whale washed up to the beach. They can be seen having a whale of a time clicking photos, selfies and making videos with the dead whale.

According to fishermen, the presence of this species of whale is rare in these seas as it inhabits the deep seas. While some people are of the opinion that it could be the floods that have brought ashore this giant whale, that seems less likely as the flooding of inland water bodies does not have an impact on the deep seas.

More plausible explanation might be that the whale could not muster enough strength to swim in the seas on account of some sickness and therefore was washed up on the beach.
