TTD Trust Board Chairman Unveils Initiatives

Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy released a book to write the Govinda Naman, a simplified version of the Bhagavad Gita in five languages, and, for the first time, calendars that feature local temples.

The Govinda Koti book contains 200 pages where Govinda Namam can be written 39,600 times. To complete 10,01,116 Govinda Namams, 26 books are required, while 253 books are needed to complete one crore Govinda Namams.

“TTD introduced this initiative to encourage youth under 25 years to inculcate the habit of writing the divine names and take forward Sanatana Dharma. Those who successfully writing 10,01,116 Govinda Namams will receive a TTD break darshan. Five persons will be provided break darshan and accommodation by TTD if they finish one crore Govinda Namams,” said Karunakar Reddy.
The TTD also released one lakh copies of a 20-page simplified Bhagavad Gita in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and English. These will be distributed among children and students.

The TTD has published 13,000 copies of calendars featuring local temples for the first time. The calendars include Mula Murti and Utsava idols of Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple at Appalayagunta, Veda Narayana Swamy temple at Nagalapuram and other temples.

He released the publications after the board meeting at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Tuesday, along with TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy, board members and officials.
