Nellore: TTD invites donations for S.V. Annaprasadam

The devotees can donate their largessee even in cash for the rice and annaprasadams during their personal memorable occasions.

Nellore: TTD EO Dr D. Sambasiva Rao said the donations to S.V. Anna Prasadam will touch Rs 800 cr by the end of 2016-17 financial year. During a review on the activities of Annadanam trust at Tirupati on Saturday, the EO said Annaprasadams should be prepared in a more tastier manner and in an enhanced hygienic environment to the multitude of visiting pilgrims to Tirumala.

The EO said the Annaprasadam officials should chalk out an action plan to come out with more delicious dishes with a better hygiene. The Trust should become self-reliant and should reduce the usage of diesel and enhance the usage of gas.
“To study on this, a committee will be constituted soon,”he added.

The devotees can donate their largessee even in cash for the rice and annaprasadams during their personal memorable occasions like wedding days, birthdays and other important days.

“A meal will cost Rs 25. In Tirumala we have been serving food to one lakh pilgrims in the form of annaprasadams and breakfast menu on a single day at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. For 1,000 pilgrims it is Rs 25,000. The devotees can donate for not less than 1,000 pilgrims. If they want to donate for a day meals then the devotees can pay a cash of Rs 25 lakh. Some devotees have already expressed their wish to donate for a day's meal of the pilgrims,” he added.

Adding further the EO said, even they can donate for 1,000 kilos of rice. “We have fixed the price at Rs 40. For one ton, the donor can pay Rs 40,000. The donations can be made in the form of cheque, DDs, e-Donation etc to Annaprasadam Trust and can get tax exemption”, he maintained.

Joint Executive Officer P. Bhaskar, CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, Additional FACAO Balaji and others were also present.
