Hyderabad: The nine-day Dasara Mahotsavam concluded on Tuesday at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam with special rituals, including purnahuthi.
The Mahotsavam began on October 15, and the Vijayadashami festival was celebrated on the last day in a traditional manner. Traditional Shamee Puja was conducted from morning to evening.
Throughout the nine days of the Mahotsavam, also known as Devi Navaratrulu, the temple officials adorned Goddess Bhramaramba Devi in different Alankarams and organized vahana sevas for Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and his consort, Bhramaramba Devi, in the evening of each day.
On the final day of the Mahotsavam, the deity blessed devotees with Nija Alankaram, and the temple officials organized a grand Nandi vahana seva.
Earlier in the day, the priests, in the presence of temple executive officer D. Peddiraju, Srisailam MLA Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy, and temple Trust Board members, performed Mandapara-dhana, Kalasarchana, Japanusthanam, Vishesha Kumkumarchana, Chandi Homam, Rudra Homam, Jayadhi Homam, and Purnahuthi.
The Dasara Mahotsavam is one of the most important festivals celebrated at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple. It is a time for devotees to come together and celebrate the victory of good over evil.
The temple officials have expressed their gratitude to all the devotees who participated in the Mahotsavam. They have also thanked the district administration and the police department for their cooperation in making the event a success.
