Hey Google, Please Rectify Location of Qutub Tombs

Hyderabad: A residential welfare association (RWA) in Shaikpet has urged Google to rectify the location of Qutub Shahi Tombs in its maps.

They said that many people who were using the maps and ride hailing services were reaching their locality instead of the tomb's entrance gate which was around 1 km away from there.

They emphasised that they did not have a problem with the tourists and visitors entering their locality, but those visting the Qutub Shahi tombs following the map were facing hardships after reaching the wrong location.

The Diamond Hills Resident Welfare & Development Society, Shaikpet, said that it had sent the request through Speed Post.

"The rear portion of the Qutub Shahi tombs shares borders with our colony. Residents personally do have any issues with the tourists or visitors entering into our colony," said M.A. Mateen, president of the RWA.

"However, I saw several tourists walking for around 1 km to reach the tomb's entrance gate after their cab services and autorickshaws dropped them off in our locality, " he added.

In the letter, they also mentioned that, the request to change the address in Google Maps was mentioned twice in February and they also brought it to the notice of the government’s heritage department.

Another resident said that the tourists after ending up at Diamond Hills Colony had to go through Gulshan Colony and then reach the Qutub Shahi tombs.

" I noticed that first-time visitors and the ones not from Hyderabad face more hardships," said a resident.
