Income tax sleuths raid Minister MR Seetharam's house

The Directorate of Income tax seized some incriminating documents, which need to be examined.

Bengaluru: The Directorate of Income Tax, Karnataka on Tuesday morning reportedly conducted search and seizure raids at the residence of Minister for Planning and Statistics, Science and Technology M.R. Seetharam in the city for alleged unaccounted wealth and assets.

According to sources, the Directorate on a tipoff regarding alleged income tax evasion by the newly inducted minister had conducted the search operation at the minister’s residence and reportedly seized some incriminating documents, which need to be examined by the sleuths of the Directorate of Income Tax, the sources said.

In May, the Directorate had questioned the security adviser and former IPS officer Kempaiah after the sleuths of the Income Tax Department had found his name mentioned in a diary of an MLC, whose house they had raided last year for alleged Income Tax violation.
