Kerala assembly pays tribute to E Chandrasekharan Nair and K K Ramachandran Nair

The biggest tribute to him was to build a brotherhood against communalism.

Thiruvananthapuram: Assembly mourned the death of Chengannur MLA K. K. Ramachandran Nair and former minister E. Chandrasekharan Nair and adjourned for the day on Tuesday. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan assured the house that the projects Mr Nair started during his the brief period will be completed. He added that Chandrasekharan Nair had worked towards making people aware of the values of the Leftist politics. The biggest tribute to him was to build a brotherhood against communalism.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said the CPI stalwart was known as Maveli minister and he had the quality of never publicising his efforts. Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan in his obituary motion said, "With the death of Chandrasekharan Nair, we have lost a visionary administrator and a public servant who won hearts with his gentle nature."

Revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan said, during his tenure as a minister, he could introduce many novel projects in different departments. Dr M. K. Muneer (IUML) C. K. Nanu (JDS,), K. M. Mani (Kerala Congress(M), A. K. Saseendran (NCP), Anoop Jacob (Kerala Congress (Jacob)), ports minister Ramachandran Kadannappally (Congress(S)), O. Rajagopal (BJP), N Vijayan Pillai (CMP), K B Ganesh Kum-ar (Kerala Congress(B)), and P C George (independent) also spoke.
