Bengaluru wakes up to Kabali

Traffic near cinema halls affected. Police resort to lathi charge.

Bengaluru: Traffic was thrown out of gear near several cinemas screening Rajinikanth starrer Kabali on Friday morning. As multiplexes had planned back to back shows of the movie, and Rajini fans, who had made advanced bookings, trooped towards the cinema halls, a traffic gridlock was created on roads leading to cinema halls. Slow movement of traffic was reported at Mantri Mall in Malleswaram, Nataraja theatre in Sheshadripuram, Urvashi theatre and also at some other cinema halls in Halasuru.

Cane charge
Tension prevailed near Nataraja theatre, when Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj and supporters staged a protest against screening of non-Kannada films on a large scale. As the protesters burnt posters and those who were waiting to watch Kabali got into a heated argument, the police had to resort to mild cane charge to disperse the mob.
