Heat may have cooked driver in Bowenpally

A case of suspicious death has been registered and the body has also been shifted to a hospital for autopsy.

HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old chauffeur was found dead inside a parked car in Bowenpally on Friday. He was identified as one Kumar.

Police officials said that Kumar, who had come to the Hanuman temple at Tadbund along with the car’s owners, was at an assigned parking zone and was sitting in the car. They suspect he could have died due to a heat stroke.

According to sources, Kumar was a native of Mallepally in Nalgonda district and had been working as a driver for a while.

“While the owners went inside the temple to offer their prayers, Kumar stayed back with the vehicle. It is believed he remained inside the car and when the owners returned, he was found unconscious inside.

“We strongly suspect it was a heat stroke that killed him. But we’re waiting for the autopsy report, which will reveal the exact cause of death,” Mr N. Suresh, sub inspector from the Bowenpally Police station said. The vehicle was newly bought. A case of suspicious death has been registered and the body has also been shifted to a hospital for autopsy. Officials are investigating.
