Visakhapatnam: The 22-year-old wife of TV artiste Chadalavada Ramesh (Potti Ramesh) was found hanging in her room on Monday at Gajuwaka here. Tripurambika married Ramesh in December 2015. Mr Ramesh was away on a shoot in Hyderabad when his wife hung herself.
CI Immanuel Raju said Tripurambika and Ramesh lived with his parents, his sister and her husband in Srinagar Colony. Ramesh’s parents called the police when they found their daughter-in-law hanging. The police rushed her to a hospital in Gajuwaka where doctors declared her dead.
Mr Ramesh was questioned by the police when he returned. He told journalists that there were no conflicts between him and his wife and he didn’t know why his wife ended her life.
The mother of Tripurambika, P. Pushpalatha, however, alleged that it was a murder. “My daughter’s in-laws and sister-in-law have been harassing her from day one. Mr Ramesh, who is a cousin of mine, is the sole breadwinner of their family. They were always trying to separate the couple out of fear that Ramesh may dump them if he has children,” Pushpalatha said. She alleged that the parents and sister did not allow the couple to sleep in a room or talk to each other.
