Hyderabad: Teachers make boys carry heavy trunks

Police driver Bhagavan videographed taking bribes.

Hyderabad: A video showing school students carrying trunks out from the Meerpet police station came out on Thursday. The students who allegedly fought at school were brought to the police station by the headmaster. However, the police said the students were taking school material out from the police station.

Another video clip showing a traffic cop collecting money from motorists who were caught during a vehicle check in Autonagar on Thursday also came out. Rachakonda police ordered a probe into both the incidents. The Balala Hakkula Sangham said the police violated juvenile justice laws and demanded an inquiry into the incident.

The video showed around four students carrying out trunks from the police station. The students belonged to the ZP High School of Jillelaguda. The students who were seen carrying the boxes said their PET teachers had took them to the police station.

“While carrying the boxes one teacher told us to stop and go back to the vehicle. Later, the teachers loaded the boxes,” a student said. Headmaster P. Govardhan Reddy said they had shifted boxes containing previous year's SSC question papers to police custody. But since the boxes occupied too much space the inspector asked us to take the boxes back to school. As per his request our staffers went to the police station.

“Some students went with them and started helping the staff. I saw the kids carrying boxes and instructed my staff to stop the kids and told them to do their job,” he said, adding that the allegations that the boys were brought to the school after a fight were baseless.

Meanwhile, at Balapur X Roads, police driver Bhagavan was seeing taking money from motorists. In the video shot on Wednesday, Bhagavan is seen going behind the vehicle and taking money from the driver covering his body camera. Rachakonda police commissioner Bhagawat said the driver was identified and action will be taken.
