MIT alumni association to dedicate a book for APJ Abdul Kalam

The two-day event is named as SUMMITAA-2. On the second day on Saturday, the association is planning to have its golden jubilee celebrations.

Chennai: The Madras Institute of Technology alumni association is planning to dedicate a book to former president APJ Abdul Kalam, an illustrious alumnus of MIT at the global alumni meet on Friday.

Announcing this to reporters, M.R. Senthamil Arasu, president of the association, said, “The book ‘Innovation by India for India – The Need and the Challenge’ was authored by V. Ramaswami, Kalam’s friend.”

The two-day event is named as SUMMITAA-2. On the second day on Saturday, the association is planning to have its golden jubilee celebrations. Governor K. Rosaiah and Isro chairman A.S.Kiran Kumar will participate in the global meet.
K. Sivan, director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram an alumnus, will speak about the aerospace engineering in the event.

“We are expecting 300 people from around the globe for the event. The meet will have the lectures of the alumni from various sectors including oil and gas, IT and core engineering,” Senthamil Arasu said.
