COIMBATORE: Captains of industry in the textile and knitwear hugs of Coimbatore and Tirupur expected the new AIADMK government to take up their long-pending demands for the infrastructure development and other issues to be addressed in the Western region.

With the Assembly election results giving the AIADMK a handsome mandate for another five years, industry associations in this hub have sent letters to the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, congratulating her for her victory. Meanwhile, they also hope that their demands to facilitate the industrial growth of this region will be taken up by her.
