Adilabad: A large number of women devotees took a holy dip in the river Godavari on the district borders in Luxettipet mandal in Mancherial district on Monday, thanks to the free travelling for women in the RTC buses.
The devotees came from Karimnagar, Jagtiyal, Peddapalli and Mancherial districts by state-run buses up to the Rayapatnam bridge and proceeded towards Godavari to take a holy dip.
One Bhumakka of Luxettipet of Mancherial said that along with her neighbours, she went to the Godavari to worship God Mallanna on Sunday. Then, the devotees offered prayers by arranging ‘Patnalu’ and offered ‘Bonalu’ on the previous days.
Then, the women worshippers were seen in huge numbers waiting for the RTC busses for the return journey.
