Vizag: Cops recover 200 lost mobile phones worth Rs 50 lakhs

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police have recovered around 200 lost mobiles worth Rs.50 lakhs and handed them over to the owners as a part of the mobile phones recovery programme.

Visakhapatnam police commissioner C. M. Trivikram said a portal has been launched for registration of complaints of lost phones within the city limits.
Speaking at a press conference, the CP said people who have lost their mobile phones can send 'Hi' to the WhatsApp number 9490617916. The complainant will receive a message with a URL link https://forms.gle/DPKgzBq4pvikosLR8 and by clicking on it, a form will be sent seeking details, he explained.

“The CCS team analysed all technical aspects with the help of TechCell data and recovered these mobiles from various locations. The teams have traced the present users in Tirupati, Guntur, West Godavari, East Godavari, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, Delhi, Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Telangana, Trivikram said adding that the process makes it easy to receive complaints of lost mobiles.
