The political alliances in Puducherry is highly influenced by the Tamil Nadu politics.

Mahe: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will support Congress-DMK alliance in the upcoming polls to the Puducherry assembly. A decision has been taken in this regard after the Congress conducted talks with IUML state leadership “We will give wholehearted support to the alliance in all 30 seats in the Union Territory,” said IUML Puducherry State President Ahammed Jawahar.
The political alliances in Puducherry is highly influenced by the Tamil Nadu politics. IUML’s support will help E Valsaraj in the Mahe constituency where the Muslim League possess considerable vote bank. Valsaraj has been representing Mahe for the last 26 years, and was the former Home Minister in 2006 Congress cabinet in Puducherry.
