8 injured in road mishap in Mahbubnagar

HYDERABAD: Eight persons, including six women, suffered serious injuries after a speeding bike rammed into an autorickshaw that they were travelling in, on National Highway 167 at Alwalpally in Jadcherla mandal of Mahbubnagar district on Monday.

The injured were identified as Bonguramma, Maneemma, Kalamma, Neelamma, Narsamma and Rangamma, all daily wagers of Jadcherla, autorickshaw driver, Ibrahim and motorist Bilal, the police said.

According to police, the occupants of the auto-rickshaw were travelling from Jedcharla to Kalwakuthy to attend to their regular duties. As they reached near Alwalpally crossroads, Bilal who was riding on a bike tried to avoid hitting a cow on the road and lost his control, hit the divider and collided head-on with the autorickshaw

Due to the impact, the autorickshaw overturned, and the six occupants suffered severe injuries, including Ibrahim, the autorickshaw driver.

Bilal also suffered injuries in the accident. Passers-by shifted the injured to the government hospital where doctors reported the condition of three women to be critical. A case has been registered against Bilal for rash driving. Further probe is on.
