Fresh case against DySP Santhosh Nair for threatening witness

The DySP also allegedly threatened to frame false charges against Dutt.

Kollam: The Kollam police have registered a fresh case against DySP Santhosh Nair, one of the accused in the controversial Happy Rajesh murder case, along with three other goons for allegedly threatening the prime witness in the case for giving statement against Mr. Santhosh Nair in the court. The CBI team investigating into the murder case has also registered statements from witness Sunil Dutt, who was allegedly threatened by the gang while he was travelling with his relatives in a car two days back.

Vettu Kuttan alias Prakash, Murukan, and Sanofar are the other three booked by the police for threatening Sunil Dutt. According to the complaint given by Sunil Dutt, Santhosh Nair along with the three goons allegedly stopped him and threatened that he would not be alive to go back to his home if he failed to change the statement. The DySP also allegedly threatened to frame false charges against Dutt.

Santhosh Nair is under suspension for being an accused in attempting to murder journalist V.B. Unnithan and ASI Babukkuttan and in a case for murdering Happy Rajesh who was the prime accused in the Unnithan murder attempt case. Several witnesses related to the Happy Rajesh murder case have turned hostile in the alleged threatening by the police-goon gang involved in the case.
