Chennai: AIADMK organising secretary Vishalakshi Nedunchezhian passed away on Monday at the age of 93. She is also the wife of R. Nedunchezhian, former state minister and one of the founder members of the DMK along with C.N.Annadurai.
Vishalakshi’s son Mathivanan told the media that Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa spoke to him over phone and condoled the death of his mother.
The Chief Minister also issued a statement expressing sadness over the demise of Vishalakshi and said she was loyal to the party and its leadership.
Her death is a irreparable loss to the AIADMK, Jayalalithaa said.and expressed her condolences to the family of Vishalakshi. Lok Sabha deputy speaker M. Thambidurai, AIADMK presidium chairman Madhusudanan, senior party leaders C. Ponnaiyan, ‘Panrutti’ S. Ramachandran and others paid homage to the departed leader.
