Harish Rao felicitates Municipal workers for getting award

Harish Rao said that achieving the Siddipet Award is a matter of pride for all of us

Hyderabad: The former minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao on Sunday felicitated the municipal workers for their meritorious service in the town for receiving a clean city award for Siddipet in South India during the Swachh survey. Siddipet won the national award for being the cleanest in south India in the 50,000-1 lakh population category.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that achieving the Siddipet Award (Efficient Management in Garbage Collection) as the Cleanest City of Telangana and South India is a matter of pride for all of us. He congratulated the municipality, councilors and officers who have worked hard for getting such an award.

"This award is dedicated to the people of Siddipet and without people's participation, the intended goal cannot be achieved. It is not only the credit of the officials or public representatives there. Even the greatness of the people. Littering, the cleaners don't come and pick it up. People there do not throw real garbage on the roads. Even if it is covered with chocolate, they keep it in their pocket and put it in the dust bin," Harish Rao said.

In India, if awards are announced for the best municipalities and the best towns in the state of Telangana, Siddipet's name must be there and we have received many awards. Siddipet has won a total 22 national awards. He recalled that in 2023, if Hyderabad stands at the ninth position out of 4416 municipalities in the country, Siddipet stands first in South India," Siddipet MLA said.
