Vijayawada: Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swami will be a Special Guest at the Peace and Harmony Conference being organised by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML).
A delegation of IUML, AP, led by party’s state president Basheer Ahmad called on Vijayendra Saraswati inside Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Brindavan Gardens of Guntur on Wednesday.
The IUML delegation informed the Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya about the Peace and Harmony Conference their party is conducting to which eminent leaders and scholars from all religions are being invited. Basheer Ahmad invited Vijayendra Saraswati Swami to participate as a Special Guest. Swamiji happily agreed to participate in the proposed conference.
Basheer Ahmed praised Kanchi Kamakoti Trust for running several educational and medical institutions for people of the country.
Kanchi Kamakoti Shankaracharya felicitated the IUML leader with a shawl. He said, "Sanatana Dharma desires happiness for all. It believes God is one, whom people worship in different ways. Based on this principle, all Indians should live in peace and happiness."
