THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police investigation has found that it was a revenge over isolation and neglect in the family that led to the cold-blooded murder of four members of the family at Nanthecode here by Cadell Jeansen Raja. Cadell was released to police custody for five days for further interrogation. According to the remand report filed by the police in the court, Cadell executed the murder of his family members as he felt isolated and neglected, mainly by his father Raja Thankam. The murder was executed after three months of planning. The astral projection experiment theory he initially told the police was an attempt to mislead the investigation.
“Cadell used to perform astral projection. Owing to neglect, no family member used to talk to him. Hence he experimented astral projection. The dummy was also used to experiment it,” said Cantonment ACP K.E. Baiju. Police said that Cadell had a complex that everyone in his family was well educated, but he could study only study up to plus-two. Though he pursued medicine and engineering, he could not complete them.
His father used to scold him over this and he felt isolated in the family. This led to a feeling of revenge against his father that led to plans to murder his family. His lack of social mingling triggered the feeling. Cadell's first traget was his mother Jean Padma. Later he targeted father Raja Thankam and sister Carol and aunt Lalitha Jane, said the police. Cadell may be taken to the house on Saturday to collect evidence. He would also further evaluated by psychiatrist Dr Mohan Roy of Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College.
