Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani has claimed that the YSRC would sweep the coming polls and the Telugu Desam will not get more than 54 seats.
Srinivas, formerly a prominent leader of the Telugu Desam, recently severed his ties with the party and joined the YSRC.
In a broadside against the Telugu Desam chief, he said Chandrababu Naidu was conspiring to betray Kapu leader Pawan Kalyan. "Naidu is strategically plotting to deceive and sideline Pawan Kalyan with the ulterior motive of clearing the path for his son, Nara Lokesh, to become the chief minister in future. He wants to make personal andpolitical gains at the cost of all else,” he stated.
Kesineni Srinivas is the YSRC’s MP candidate from Vijayawada as per the list announced by the party.
He termed the TD chief a traitor who let down Vijayawada. “Chandrababu never worked for development of the city and conspired for real estate development through his emphasis on Amaravati. Chandrababu decided to make Vijayawada a graveyard and make it another old city.”
Disclosing how many seats TD will get in the next election, he said surveys showed TD would get 54 seats only even in alliance with its friendly parties.
He said, “Asia's biggest Autonagar is in Vijayawada, which is my favourite area. The water tank was funded from my MP LADS. With the help of the YSRC Vijayawada East constituency incharge, Devineni Avinash completed and inaugurated in Autonagar.”
Srinivas said he was not against the concept of Amaravati as the state capital. It would have been a magnificent city if it had been built from Kaja -- between Vijayawada and Guntur -- on the Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway.
It would have been better if the new capital’s planning was done from old Amaravati, “but it went into the hands of the land mafia.”
He alleged that both Naidu and Lokesh cheated the farmers. “Chandrababu will also cheat Pawan Kalyan, for the sake of Lokesh, after elections.”
