MP: 5 Lakh Ladoos From Ujjain Mahakal Shrine for Ayodhya Ram Temple Consecration

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav on Friday declared that five lakh ‘ladoos’ from Mahakal shrine in Ujjain in the state would be sent for the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya Ram temple, scheduled to be held on January 22.

Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a yoga event held here to mark the National Youth Day observed on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, Mr Yadav said that the state would play its part in the January 22 consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya by sending the famous ‘ladoos’ of Mahakal shrine.

“Five lakh ladoos from the Mahakaleshwar Mandir, Ujjain, will be sent to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22”, he said.

The temple was demolished by Mughal emperor Babar and has now been rebuilt, he said adding that ‘How can Madhya Pradesh be left behind in celebrating the occasion’.

Mr Yadav’s announcement comes in the wake of a similar pledge by his Chhattisgarh counterpart Vishnu Deo Sai to send 300 tons of the finest variety of aromatic rice, produced in Chhattisgarh, to Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony of Ram temple.

The rice millers’ association of Chhattisgarh have procured the aromatic rice variety to send to Ayodhya Ram temple for the occasion.

Mr Sai said that Chhattisgarh is known as ‘nanihal’ (maternal place) of Lord Ram since the state is believed to be the birthplace of the Lord’s mother Kaushalya Devi.

A temple dedicated to Kaushalya Devi has been built in Chandkhuri near Raipur.

This is the only shrine dedicated to Kaushalya in the world.

Mr Sai also announced that Chhattisgarh would send 100 tons of vegetables to Ayodhya Ram temple for the occasion.
