National Investigation Agency books another in IS module case

Moinudheen guided activities from UAE.

KOCHI: The National Investigation Agency, probing the case connected with the busting of an alleged IS module at Kanakamala in Kannur, has filed charge sheet against Moinudheen P.K. alias Moinudheen Parakadavath as the 14th accused in the case. Moinudheen was deported from United Arab Emirates few months ago. The 25-year-old Moinudheen, a native of Kanhangad, Kasargod, was known in different names such as Abu Abdulla, Ibnu Abu Al Indonesi Mainuislam and Ibnu Abdulla. According to the investigation agency Moinudheen was closely associated with Shajeer Managalassery, a native of Kozhikode, suspected to be killed in Afghanistan.

Moinudheen along with Shajeer moved to Mashhad in Iran on their way to join the IS territory in Afghanistan. But Moinu-dheen returned to UAE with the intention of the guiding IS activities in India based out of UAE. In the Telegram Group used by the IS supporters for communication Moinudheen has assumed the name of Ibnu Abu Al Indonesi. The UAE police had intercepted Moinudheen following the tip-off provided by NIA. He was later deported to India on request of NIA.

NIA had already submitted a charge sheet in the case. The accused in the first charge sheet included Manseed, native of Thalassery, Swalih Mohammed, native of Chelad, Rashid Ali native of Coimbatore, Ramshad N.K., Kuttiadi, Safvam of Tirur, Jasim N.K. of Kuttiadi, Shajeer Mangalassery, Kozhikode and Subahani Haja of Thodupuzha. NIA officials have conducted raids in Alapuzha and Coimbatore few days ago on the suspicion that IS module still remained active.
