FTCCI CEO Forum's meet on 'Trade, Technology and Tourism' held

Hyderabad: Diplomats of the United States, the United Kingdom and Turkey, who participated in a panel discussion on 'Trade, Technology and Tourism', said they accorded priority to trade and improving people-to-people interactions, cultural ties, and bilateral relations for growth in all the three areas,

At the talk organised by Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), Jennifer Larson, US Consul General, Hyderabad, said that from 2000 to 2019, bilateral trade had increased ten times to $146 billion. They were foreseeing an increase in trade between India and the USA and aiming at $500 billion by 2023.

Gareth Wynn Owen, the United Kingdom Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said his team wanted to work with the world’s largest innovation campus at T-Hub and other incubators in Telangana. "We plan to double trade with India by 2030 and target £70bn if the foreign trade agreement goes through," he added.

Yalman Okan, Turkish Consulate General in Hyderabad, spoke about the cultural similarities between the two nations and the trade relationship they shared. " The Scientific and Technology Research Institute of Turkey, a national agency of Turkey, is likely to set up an office in T-Hub," he said.
