Two medical colleges breached norm: CEE

Only KMCT provided the details of the procedures.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) will report to the High Court that the Kannur and Karuna medical colleges have not provided the details needed for conducting spot admissions. The admissions were held on Friday, the revised deadline fixed by the Supreme Court for completing the admission procedures. The spot admissions for 150 seats each in KMCT and Kannur medical colleges and 100 seats in Karuna medical college were held on the day.

Only KMCT provided the details of the procedures. These medical colleges did not comply with the directives of the CEE for making admissions. CEE B.S. Mavoji told Deccan Chronicle that while Kannur medical college did not produce any documents related to the students admitted to the college, Karuna medical college did not provide the complete details of the students. This matter will be reported to the High Court on October 13, along with the list of candidates who applied to the colleges ranked according to the NEET list.

The admissions to Kannur and Karuna medical colleges were carried out in compliance with the High Court order of Thursday. It had earlier asked the CEE to consider students who have already been admitted by the colleges, even if they have not submitted any fresh, online, applications pursuant to the recent notification issued by the CEE as valid applicants.
