Probe against M P Veerendra Kumar, son M V Shreyams Kumar

Mr Rajan had approached the vigilance court one month back.

KOZHIKODE: The Thalassery vigilance court on Friday ordered the deputy superintendent of vigilance in Wayanad to conduct a quick verification of facts on a petition against M.P. Veerendra Kumar, MP, and son M.V. Shreyams Kumar on the controversial Malanthottam plantation encroachment and sale case on Friday.

Vigilance special judge V Jayaram’s order was based on a complaint filed by P. Rajan, a native of Kochi, referring to a report submitted by Mananthavadi sub-collector in1991. Mr Rajan had approached the vigilance court one month back.

The petitioner alleged that the accused had illegally possessed 135.14 acre land in the Krishnagiri village of Sulthan Bathery taluk in Wayanad district with fabricated documents and sold out 54.05 acre land illegally. Mr Rajan had claimed in the report that the Wayanad sub-collector had sent a detailed report on the fraud to revenue secretary in 1988 and subsequently the district collector had demanded an investigation on the same issue in 1991.
