IIT-H-Hexagon CCI Launch Lab to Mould Budding Entrepreneurs

Hyderabad: A precision center metrology lab has been established in the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) campus following an MoU entered into by the institute’s iTIC incubator with Hexagon capability center India, R&D center of Hexagon AB, here on Wednesday.

Navaneet Mishra, senior vice-president and head of Hexagon’s R&D Centre India inaugurated the lab in the presence of Prof. S. Surya Kumar, dean (ITS), IITH.

The facility offers access to precision measurement tools and skill development opportunities to students, aspiring entrepreneurs and startups.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the lab will provide a unique platform for individuals and organisations looking to gain practical experience under the guidance of Hexagon's experts.

The centerpiece of the facility is the precision coordinate measurement machine, a high-precision instrument that sets new standards for inspection capabilities.

The lab will also address prototyping and part fabrication needs, while offering skill development courses tailored to empower emerging entrepreneurs. Additionally, the advanced equipment will support research activities, particularly in the field of reverse engineering.

Crucially, the lab's resources will not be confined to the academic community alone; they will also be accessible to external startups and organisations. This open-door approach is aimed at fostering a collaborative environment where innovation knows no limits.
