AP reports 267 Covid cases in past two weeks

VIJAYAWADA: AP health minister Vidadala Rajini on Friday disclosed that during past two weeks, medical authorities have tested 15,096 people and found 267 of them with symptoms of Covid-19.

She said all the patients are currently staying at home and taking their requisite medicines. She maintained that Coronavirus is under full control in Andhra Pradesh and there is no need to worry.

Participating in a country-wide video conference with union health minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with ministers of other states, Rajini underlined that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is in constant touch with the medical and health department regarding measures being taken for dealing with Coronavirus.

Dr. Mandaviya had held a video conference with health ministers of all states on Friday to know measures being undertaken by various state governments in the wake of increase in Covid cases across the country.

The AP minister appealed to centre that it allocate another 20 lakh Covid-19 booster doses to Andhra Pradesh. She further requested National Health Mission to bear the amount incurred on maintenance of oxygen plants and primary health centres.

Union minister of state for health Dr. Bharti Parveen Pawar also participated in the video conference. Apart from minister Rajini, AP was represented by chief secretary (Medical and Health) M.T. Krishnababu and officials from National Health Mission and AP health and family welfare department.
