Adilabad: A 19-year-old first-year degree student named Kamera Prabhas attempted suicide after reportedly being physically assaulted by his friends. The student died while undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Mancherial on a Friday.
According to police, Kamera Prabhas hailed from Ponnaram village in the Mandamarri mandal was residing at the Ponnaram SC hostel. He was pursuing his degree at a private college in Mancherial district. According to reports, Prabhas had received some money from his parents for his preparations for police constable recruitment exams. He had kept this money in his hostel room but was dismayed to discover that it had gone missing when he returned from college three days prior.
Tensions escalated when Prabhas confronted his roommates, suspecting one of them of stealing his money. An argument ensued, resulting in Prabhas being physically assaulted. This distressing incident appears to have taken a significant toll on Prabhas, leading him to attempt suicide by consuming pesticide and returning home in despair. His family rushed him to the Mancherial government hospital, where he died during the course of treatment. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
