Chennai: DMK MLA M. Subramaniam has entered the Asia Book of Records for running 29 marathon races till June 26 this year. He met DMK chief M. Karunanidhi and party treasurer M.K. Stalin with the shield and certificate for the record and was felicitated by them.
The 57-year-old politician, who is a diabetic for the last 15 years and underwent a surgery in his left knee which was crushed in an accident in 2004 began participating in 29 marathon races all for a distance of 21.1 km from 2014.
Till February 2016, he had participated in 25 marathons and entered the India Book of Records. He will participate in his 30th marathon for a distance of 25 km on August 7.
