BJP to come to the rescue of Vellappally Natesan in finance scam

Mr. Kumar said the allegations against the Chandy regime have been endorsed by various investigating agencies.

KOCHI: The BJP leadership has brushed aside the micro finance scandal linked with the SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan by reaching the conclusion that it was a smear campaign by the political opponents. “The allegations are baseless”, Ananth Kumar, Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals told media reporters here on Friday.

Answering questions from media persons on the propriety of BJP having alliance with Vellappally while accusing the UDF regime headed by Oommen Chandy of corruption, Mr. Kumar said the allegations against the Chandy regime have been endorsed by various investigating agencies.

Mr. Kumar also claimed that former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has been exonerated by Supreme Court and Karnataka High Court in many of the corruption cases.

Expressing confidence about the BJP-led NDA alliance making major electoral gains in the assembly elections in Kerala Mr. Kumar said people of the state will vote against the corruption of the UDF and the politics of destruction of the LDF.
