Kerala: Young entrepreneurs to set up six CBSE schools

The primary campus of the first school will be opened in Kannur.

Kochi: Kochi-based Great Indian Knowledge Initiatives, promoted by a group of young educational entrepreneurs will launch six schools across the state in three years with an investment of Rs 150 crore. The primary campus of the first school will be opened this month in Kannur. “The schools will come up in Kannur, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi,” said N. K. Sajiv Menon, a technocrat turned edupreneur with two decades of experience in the field, who is among the investors. The Great Indian School will follow integrated CBSE curriculum and will combine modern education with values, he added.

“The school will have facilities including inspirational domes, knowledge spaces, wifi-campus, smart digital boards, audio visual labs and TPS app software among others. It will also focus on time-tested ideals, green campuses, organic farming and unique extracurricular activities,” he added. Sajiv Menon said that the plan is to set up 100 Great Indian Schools in AMRUT cities and 20 Great Indian International Schools in chosen Smart Cities targeting the NRI population. The international schools will follow the CBSE international (CBSEi) curriculum.
