Teachers' Day: Schools plan grand celebrations

School managements in the city are quite busy with Teacher's Day celebrations

Hyderabad: Schools across the city were in a flurry of activity as students and school managements started making preparations for the Teacher’s Day celebrations on Tuesday. Games, recreational activities and students enacting teachers are among a few activities on the day’s list.

Mallika Samson, principal and correspondent, St Philips High School, King Koti, told Deccan Chronicle, “We have planned big celebrations for the Teacher’s Day. We have invited motivational speaker Sabitha Swaraj to address students, apart from lunch and recreational activities. Students have also planned activities dedicated to teachers, such as poetry, drama, songs and dances. In addition, we will also announce increments and recognitions for best teachers.”

Genesis International School, Kukatpally, has planned a two-day celebration, with celebrations for primary students taking place on Monday and Tuesday for high school students on Tuesday.

“Students have taken the charge for tomorrow’s celebrations. They will be conducting games, dance performances, speeches and other fun activities. Students of Class 10 will be enacting as teachers and teaching other classes. We will also have cultural programmes,” said Shankar Reddy, vice principal, Genesis International School.

Students of Oakridge International School, Bachupally, have planned ‘pampering’ sessions for teachers, along with cultural activities of dance and songs.

Diana K., head of the English department, Oakridge International School, Bachupally, said, “For the Teacher’s Day celebrations, students have planned nail art and massages to make us feel special. They will also imitate us and conduct classes for lower grades to understand how difficult our role is. Students have also made appreciation cards for teachers. We will have sports and cultural activities, lunch and high tea as well.”

Pallavi Group of Schools have arranged the celebrations in collaboration with Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold and Diamonds for students and teachers, school officials said.
