Medical professionals need to focus on core values: Kiran Bedi

1228 while gold medals were handed to proficient graduates

Puducherry: Young medical professionals should focus on keeping the core values of their profession intact, Lt Governor Kiran Bedi said in speech at the seventh annual convocation of the Jawharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) here on Wednesday.

The country has invested heavily in infrastructure and other facilities in medical colleges and students have the responsibility to pay it back to the society, in fact a little more than what they are expected to do, said Ms Bedi. She asked the students to be responsible to the society and be sensitive to the needs of people.
Degrees were presented to 246 successful students of Jipmer from various disciplines. They included Ph.D: 6, M.Ch: 14, DM: 14, MD: 50, MS: 20 and MBBS: 1228 while gold medals were handed to proficient graduates.
